March 2 – Conflict, POV and Beware of the Dog

 

Today we are going to look at “Word Processor of the gods movie” to address one of the comprehension questions from last day.

Then we are going to review Theme by looking at two children’s books.

Then we will look at point of view in short stories, types of conflict in short stories and then practice identifying these by reading and answering questions from the SS “Beware of the Dog” by Ronald Dahl.

POV:

Omniscient – “all knowing”
Limited Omniscient – limited perspective from one major character, usually protagonist.
First Person – “I”, personal experience from “I” character
Objective – like watching – reading – through a video camera

Man vs Self
Man Vs Nature
